Health records scattered, withdrawal periods guessed

Untracked withdrawal

Without a system, withdrawal periods are managed on paper or memory. Dispatching too early carries serious commercial and regulatory risk.

Disconnected records

Vet notes, treatment logs, and mortality records often live in separate places, impossible to assemble for a traceability audit.

Late disease detection

Informal observation systems mean disease events escalate before they're formally documented and responded to.

From observation to clearance

Every health event follows a structured lifecycle, ensuring nothing is missed between observation and recovery.

1

Observation recorded

During daily rounds, a farm worker observes unusual signs and logs an observation: number of birds affected, symptoms, and location within the house.

2

Health event raised

Alert triggered

The observation is elevated to a health event record. Affected count, symptom category, and severity are captured. A notification is sent to the farm manager.

3

Vet consultation

The attending vet reviews the event, confirms diagnosis, and prescribes treatment. Vet visit details are recorded against the event.

4

Treatment applied

Withdrawal tracked

Treatment records are created: drug name, dose, route of administration, and duration. Withdrawal period is calculated and tracked automatically.

5

Recovery monitoring

Daily follow-up records track recovery. Mortality and response to treatment are logged against the event until closure.

6

Clearance confirmation

Audit-ready

Once the withdrawal period is complete and the event is closed, the batch is cleared. A complete event record is available for any regulatory audit.

What's included

Health event logging

Record health events per batch with symptom categorisation, affected count, severity rating, and vet involvement.

Vaccination schedules

Plan and record vaccinations per batch type. Track administered doses against schedule; overdue vaccinations are flagged.

Treatment records

Log treatments with drug name, dosage, route, and duration. Integrated withdrawal period calculator.

Withdrawal period management

Automated countdown from treatment date. Batches under withdrawal are marked and cannot be dispatched until the period clears.

Disease event management

Track disease outbreaks with affected counts, investigation status, notifiable disease flags, and closure documentation.

Quarantine orders

Issue formal quarantine orders against a batch or house. Movement restrictions are enforced in the system until the order is lifted.

Common questions

How is a withdrawal period enforced?

When a treatment with a withdrawal period is recorded, Livestork calculates the earliest clearance date. The batch is marked 'under withdrawal' and cannot be dispatched until the withdrawal period expires. Farm managers receive a notification when clearance is reached.

What is a disease event vs a health event?

A health event is any incident affecting individual animals or a small group: a respiratory case, a lame bird, a vitamin deficiency. A disease event is a more serious outbreak affecting a significant proportion of the batch, requiring investigation and potentially notifiable to a regulatory authority.

Can I create vaccination schedules per batch type?

Yes. Livestork supports breed or species-specific vaccination schedules with recommended administration ages. When a batch reaches a scheduled vaccination age, the system generates a reminder. Administered vaccinations are recorded against the batch record.

How does health traceability work at dispatch?

At close-out and dispatch, Livestork generates a batch health summary showing all health events, treatments applied, vaccination history, and withdrawal compliance. This record is available for food safety audits and buyer documentation requirements.
