Common questions
How does inventory update when goods arrive?
When a store keeper confirms a goods received note (GRN) against a purchase order, inventory updates automatically. The received quantities are added to stock at the cost specified on the PO. No separate stock entry is required; the GRN is the stock movement.
Can I manage inventory across multiple farm locations?
Yes. Livestork supports multiple storage locations (stores) with separate stock balances per location. You can transfer stock between locations with a tracked transfer record, and view consolidated or location-specific stock reports.
How do reorder alerts work?
For each inventory item, you configure a minimum stock level (reorder level). When the current quantity drops below this level, whether through consumption or GRN, an alert is generated. The alert includes the current quantity, the shortfall, and a suggested reorder quantity.
How is feed consumption linked to batch cost?
When feed is issued to a batch, the consumption event records the quantity and references the inventory lot being consumed. The cost of the feed (from the GRN) is allocated directly to the batch. This means your batch P&L reflects actual feed cost, not budgeted cost.
